Momodou N’jie
Momodou’s passion for event production started in college when he began curating fundÂraisers and social events for Depaul fraternities and sororities. After graduation, he acceptÂed a position as an insurance consultant but quickly realized the creative limitations within the corporate world. His experience witnessing the norms of poor management and its subsequent impact pushed him to expand upon his entrepreneurial skilIs.
During his time in corporate America he simultaneously built and refined his business, Dim, using accessible digital tools such as YouTube, to strategically grow his knowledge and experience. He built out teams for events and used motivation from his mismanagement to develop the core foundations of internal human development to serve both his clients and teams. Many of these team members were college students, who asked how they could intern for Dim to continue learning and growing with he early-stage company.
Momodou fell in love with teaching and being a resource for these students as they began their career exploration. He further developed the internship program to teach fundamenÂtal skills for students to apply to future internships, jobs, and mentorships. To date, his program as seen over 200 interns complete the program and has been recogÂnized by renowned universities around the world. In each rotation, of which there are three per year, hundreds of interns apply and that number continues to grow thanks to the positive experiences shared by past students. The program staff has grown to include partnerÂships with top freelancers, serving as teachers and mentors alongside Momodou.
Momodou is focused on expanding the impact of the program to provide an accessible educational resource for all: college students, recent graduates, those who didn’t go to colÂlege, individuals looking to make a career change, and anyone in between.
